Briar was an interesting name. She wondered how well it fit him. Cassie wasn't sure her name fit her well, aside from the whole Cassandra thing. Sometimes she wondered if her mom had been on some kind of drugs when she named her, since it felt a little too on the nose considering they were supposed to hide what they were. The rest of it actually meant something along the lines of shining over man, whatever that was supposed to mean.
A compliment shouldn't have been surprising, nor should it have actually meant anything to her, but Cassie felt her cheeks pink slightly when he said she had talent. She recovered herself after a moment and grinned. "I've got lots of talent. Drawing's just one of them, not even my best," she promised, and if there was a tinge of suggestiveness in there, well she was just looking for a good time and she'd yet to dig herself too deep of a hole she couldn't get herself out of.
She shut her notebook and stuffed it back in her bag. "So. How about that drink? Or we can skip that part and get right to the getting to know each other bit." Cassie arched her eyebrow as if in challenge, just to see if it would throw him off.
