"Asking for trouble is your thing, pal," Bucky replied with a grin. "Besides, this is the easy part." He knew he didn't need to convince Steve to do anything he asked him to. They'd been through too much together to ever turn the other down for any request. At this point, Bucky wasn't even sure there was a limit or a line to it, but he was okay with that. After this long, he was just glad to be alive and able to control his own destiny.
He set the bags down on the counter and started unpacking, since he was very much the kind of person who preferred to have everything in its place before he started working on a given project. That came out most clearly in the kitchen as a way to help keep himself from feeling overwhelmed in the face of new and more complex recipes or techniques. Hamburgers and hotdogs with plenty of sides were easy though, so it was more about just making sure that the stuff that needed to be in the fridge was. With Steve's help, it was only a couple of minutes before they were ready to get started on forming the hamburger patties.
Bucky thought better of making a joke about the fact that he had a metal arm, since it wasn't like that stopped him from doing anything and he wasn't quite sure if Steve could take a joke about it or not. Some days were better than others, for the both of them. "Roll up those sleeves," he chose to tease instead as he went to wash his hands. While Steve washed his, Bucky grabbed a large metal sheet tray and lined it with parchment paper. That got set up on the counter, with the packages of ground beef opened up and placed on each side of it.
"I'm thinking quarter pounders, maybe a little bigger? Depends on if you want to do double stacks or singles," he said as he pulled some ground beef from his tray. There was a good amount of beef, something like 2.5 pounds, just for them to have. Their appetites were no joke, but it would mean Steve's hands would help make the prep work go more quickly. "What do you think?"
